Examiner insight

Support shaped by what stronger answers need to demonstrate.

Former Head of History

Teaching and leadership experience behind each lesson.

Individual attention

The focus follows the student’s thinking and current work.

Who this is for

Students who revise hard but find their answers stay too descriptive, lose direction or leave important reasoning unexplained.

Jane works on analysis, evidence, judgement, essay structure, source work, interpretations, exam technique and revision. The priority is the skill the student needs now.

How tuition works

  1. Review current work

Start with an essay, answer or teacher feedback to understand the student’s thinking.

  2. Identify the issue

Work out whether knowledge, analysis, structure, sources or timing is limiting marks.

  3. Practise the exact skill

Use focused questions and practice to make the next improvement clear.

  4. Build independence

Apply the approach to a fresh task, with less prompting as confidence grows.

Jane’s experience

Experience behind the tuition

Jane is an experienced History teacher, former Head of History and examiner. She has taught and supported students from secondary school through to A Level, including GCSE and A-Level exam preparation, UCAS and EPQ guidance.

She rarely teaches exactly the same lesson twice. First, she works out how the student thinks, where they are struggling and what will help them take the next step.

Her aim is to help students understand History, think critically about it and explain it confidently for themselves.
